Rose-of-Sharon, Hydrangea, Buddleia (Butterfly Bush) and Ornamental Grasses
These four adaptable families give us some of our best flowering plants for summer and fall. We offer an extensive selection of older favorites and some of the better new selections developed here and abroad.
Althea – Rose-of-Sharon. More than six varieties available in single and double-flowered forms in shades of pink, blue, white and lavender. Both tree and shrub forms available.
Buddleia – Butterfly Bush – We offer an extensive selection of both old and new cultvars of this deer- and drought-resistant long-blooming favorite. These superb plants are available in white, blue, purple and pink.
Hydrangea – Our extensive selection includes the new truly hardy blue or pink ‘Blue Billows’, ‘Lady in Red’, ‘Tiny Tuff Stuff’, ‘Tuff Stuff’ and ‘Twist and Shout’; the paniculata culti¬vars ‘Bobo’, ‘Fire and Ice’, Fire Light’, ‘Grandiflora’, ‘Limelight’, ‘Little Lime’, ‘Little Quickfire’, ‘Phantom’, ‘Pink Diamond’, ‘Pinky Winky’, ‘Quickfire’, ‘Strawberry Sundae’, ‘Tardiva’, ‘Unique’, ‘Vanilla Strawberry’ and ‘White Moth’ (some paniculata cultivars available in both tree and shrub form); quercifolia cultivars ‘Jet Stream’, ‘Ruby Slippers’, ‘Sikes Dwarf’, ‘Snowflake’ and ‘Snow Queen’; and arborescens cultivars ‘An¬nabelle’, ‘Hayes Starburst’, ‘Incrediball’ and ‘Invincible Ruby’. Ornamental Grasses – We offer several interesting deer-resistant varieties of Carex, Chasmanthium, Festuca, Hakonochloa, Helictotrichon, Miscanthus, Molinia, Panicum, Pennisetum and Schizachyrium.
